Last year, Chris was lucky enough to speak at NSW Writers' Centre one day symposium funded by the Copyright Agency (CAL).
The event is called Open Access: Selling Your Work in the Digital Age
Date: Saturday 6 September, 10am – 4pm
Open Access focuses on how writers promote themselves and their work in the constantly changing world of publishing.
For writers and publishers, the challenge is always how to get a book into the hands of readers. Whether you self-publish or go with a mainstream publisher, whether it’s an ebook, print or both, the challenge of promoting yourself and launching your book into the world remains.
Chris will join other authors on a panel called The Author as PR Machine.
The Author as PR Machine (3.00 – 4.00pm)
These days promoting your book is very much part of the author's role, whether self-published or by a small or large publisher. A panel of authors discuss how they have gone about promoting their books either working alone, with a publisher or publicist. Featuring Summer Land (Summerlandish), Bruce McCabe (Skinjob), and Johanna Baker-Dowell (Business & Baby on Board).
